SPEAKER_17The spin-off anime was directed by Hayato Tate and written by Katsukyuki Sumisawa and Junki Takigami. This beloved series has fans the world over and is considered one of the big three anime along with Bleach in One Piece.
SPEAKER_18So with the preamble out of the way, let's jump right in.
SPEAKER_16So on behest of my coworker, I decided to embark on the journey that is Naruto.
SPEAKER_17Then and CJ have already seen uh Naruto as part of their uh anime training arc, I guess.
SPEAKER_08Anime training arc.
SPEAKER_16Okay. More like an anime catch up, but because we didn't grow up with Naruto. Yeah, yeah. Like Naruto became popular, what, when we were in college-ish?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, because that's when I was, I think my fresh can't I went to the freaking two years, so I don't even want to call it freshman, but my first semester of college, yeah. A friend of mine was showing me uh parts of the tune in exams, so it was already popping by the time we were in college.
SPEAKER_17Yeah, and it's created a large fan base the world over. Everybody for a long time was doing the Naruto run.
SPEAKER_16Yeah, it was a huge thing, of course. And I think the yeah, yeah, it was early, especially early 2000s.
SPEAKER_08Didn't they do it at Area 51?
SPEAKER_16That was a thing. I did they ever go through with that? I remember they were landing on it.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, I remember the morons, okay.
SPEAKER_16Fucking idiots. You don't attack at fucking army base. Well, they weren't attacking.
SPEAKER_08It wasn't a tag, bro.
SPEAKER_16You don't yeah, you don't show up at army base. Okay, that's fair.
SPEAKER_08You also never mind. That that's gonna go on political tirade. Never mind, never mind.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, January 6th. Yeah, anyway.
SPEAKER_17Um yeah, but uh, so my overall take on the show, I haven't watched it the most uh the most recent it stinks. I don't like it, I don't like it at all.
SPEAKER_16I don't like this fucking show, I don't like the fucking people. I think we're gonna have like three different uh takes on this. I find certain parts of it decent. It's just there are some parts that kind of make me eye roll. Kishimoto's uh riding for women is and it's notorious ass, though.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, it is. It's it's it's widely known. He is wild, widely panned for that.
SPEAKER_16Yeah. Um, it wasn't so much like there's the only part that I liked in this show was the last fight between Sasuke and Naruto. It is an iconic fight. That is all it's super iconic.
SPEAKER_08I mean, you get like little tidbits here and there. It it it's a big buildup for it as far as pretty much the first entire the first series is pretty much an entire build-up for that last fight.
SPEAKER_18Yeah, pretty much and the rest and basically delivered, yeah.
SPEAKER_08So, and I think that's one of the big holdouts for a lot of fans is that last fight was such and and imagine at the time that was oh yeah.
SPEAKER_16I mean, yeah, especially. I mean, because the thing is like a lot of bleach fights are just him slashing at the air and screaming get super tintro. Um, I could see the One Piece fights being maybe a little bit more entertaining, but I've never really seen One Piece, so yeah, I'm not even attacking that behemoth.
SPEAKER_08Um hey, y'all can be mad at me. Yeah, man. One piece fans, one piece fans are the loyalist fans there are and and I respect y'all. I respect y'all, thug dizzle, but I remember seeing tidbits of that on Saturday morning cartoons. Yeah, so I'm not going back.
SPEAKER_18Incredibly long time. I mean there are um there is going to be more truncated version coming out soon, which is good.
SPEAKER_16And I'm I am a fan of the live action. No, there is a truncated version, kind of like um Dragon Ball Z Kai where they're um cutting down, you know, making it a little bit more digestible, the anime.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Yeah, I still don't know. I still don't know.
SPEAKER_16But I am a fan of the live action, the earnestness of the live action, the production behind it, they out of any live action anime series I've watched, other than there's a movie series, the Raroni Kentra movie series. I've seen the first one. I was very impressed with that. Other than that, it's probably the best adaptation I've seen.
SPEAKER_18Anime adaptation, live action anime adaptation I've seen.
SPEAKER_06The only one still going.
SPEAKER_16Probably I think they Avatar. I mean, you can't really avatar isn't exactly it's like it's like a US anime. Yeah, so it's like if you want to count that, you can still kind of say that's kids still going, but yes, yeah, that's the only one. I mean, you hacker show they kind of melded everything together, so yeah, it was not good start on that. Yeah, cowboy beep.
SPEAKER_11Oh no, didn't even name it a full season.
SPEAKER_16Yeah, I think they did a full eight episodes, but it didn't, yeah. Cowboy Bebop. I was like, Yeah, I remember they shut that thing in the head.
SPEAKER_17They got that shit out of their expedition.
SPEAKER_08Like, did they even try? Yeah, I was gonna wait for like you know, reviews and stuff, and then I heard it was canceled.
SPEAKER_16Like, oh yeah, it was canceled in the GMs.
SPEAKER_13The general movies that it was ass.
SPEAKER_16Back to Naruto. Oh my god, yeah, sorry. I respect I respect it's I respect it as one of the progenitors. I respect it just um we were big on Dragon Ball Z growing up. We had Dragon Ball Z on channel 11, and we watched the Santa Saga, I don't know how many fucking times. So many because they won't get more episodes, so yeah, you can't just over.
SPEAKER_08And then if you was like watching Tunami, and yeah, that's when the new episodes came out, yeah.
SPEAKER_16Yeah, no, and that was also when we were in college, yeah. Yeah. If I remember correctly, late high school, late high school, yeah. Um, because we didn't get because people were talking about it being uh them going further in Dragon Ball Z on Cartoon Network, but we just didn't get Cartoon Network. Yeah, I just remember being mad and it was like you lucky bastards, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Androids and cell saga.
SPEAKER_16Well, why?
SPEAKER_17Nobody talks about the garlic junior saga for good reason, but yeah.
SPEAKER_08And we'll get into that because I don't want people, and I thought it was uh I don't remember that actually being part of the anime.
SPEAKER_19It's canon, it's canon, it's canon, but I don't remember part of the anime.
SPEAKER_16No, it aired. It aired because I remember watching it when I was younger. You might be thinking of the dead zone, the movie, um, which introduced us to garlic.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, like like it might be, but I don't remember. I'm trying to remember because I remember I did that run through I don't remember it being a part of the actual You probably fall asleep.
SPEAKER_16Yes, that's what I did. I did go through my run Dragon Ball Z too. As soon as Drag as soon as Garlic Jr. saga came about, I thought, whoop, I'm out.
SPEAKER_08Was it a very short saga?
SPEAKER_16Oh, actually, it's not canon.
SPEAKER_08Ah, I knew it was an offshoot.
SPEAKER_16But it was still very much part of the anime. Yes. It's a filler mark in the anime. It's like one of the only ones. Yep.
SPEAKER_08Oh, and you know what? And I was on filler live, uh, filler uh watching.
SPEAKER_16Ah, that's probably what I'm saying. See, that's where it is. Yep, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Either that or the collection I had like already omitted it.
SPEAKER_16Probably. Because yeah, when I was growing, I remember growing up and watching the Garlic Jr. saga.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I'm sure it aired, but yeah.
SPEAKER_16Dog shit then, dog shit now. But yeah, that's I say that to say this. I don't want people to get like if anybody is gonna listen to this. Um, I don't want anybody to get the wrong idea that you know, all I just have this affinity for Dragon Ball Z because I can no, I watch stuff as objectively as possible these days. As I got older, I realized there's no use in having nostalgic algorithms just bullshit anyway.
SPEAKER_08I mean you you're probably one of the more objective of us. So yeah, try.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, I'll give you that.
SPEAKER_08Sometimes you're just a grump, but yeah, you're you're you're you're more exjective.
SPEAKER_12You're more I mean, I'm not gonna disagree with you. I don't see the hype behind some of the fights.
SPEAKER_08But um so um I probably like it the most out of the three of us, and that's what I'm gonna say. This is what I'm gonna say. Honestly. I look at it kind of like again, I give it the grace of the time of when it came out. So I'm like, I cool. It is kind of it's kind of more I don't know. I mean I'm trying to pit the fights against like like Dragon Ball Z ish that's rough.
SPEAKER_17I wouldn't do it. It's only because that's it's close to the time, though.
SPEAKER_08It is completely different style, but I'm I'm trying to think of as as far as the times versus you know, like comparing it to like compare it to Bleach, if anything else. Uh see, I don't know when Bleach ran.
SPEAKER_16And the thing is bleach doesn't really throw hands like that. Bleach Naruto did kind of usher in the more dynamic fights for anime, like even in compared to Dragon Ball, like the fights were they, you know, everything was drawn so fast, so you couldn't see you know what was happening.
SPEAKER_08Whereas this one, yeah, this one kind of slowed it down a little bit, you start to see a little bit. Yeah, it's just the my issue is probably it's probably one of your issues, is like it was too much teenage angst and any point teenage angst. I thought they weren't even teenage yet.
SPEAKER_16No, it was just so much drama, it's definitely very dramatic, and it's like there's some things I just don't get about the concepts, like um, and we'll probably get into this um close towards the end, but like Sasuke uh Naruto being Sasuke's best friend, yeah. Where that's a recon.
SPEAKER_08It was like weird because they like that man hated Naruto from the get-go, from Cheyam. And Naruto's like, I don't really fuck with you, but we're gonna be best friends, like, huh? Yeah, exactly. But honestly, that is that is honestly Naruto's whole vibe is we're gonna be friends, yeah. Except for like you have to there are a few people and you'll see them probably mostly in Shippeden once you if you yeah, I'll watch Shippeden because we'll get into it, but yeah, continue. Yeah, uh there are a few people in Shippeden where it's fuck you because they of what they've done. And even then he kind of softens.
SPEAKER_16Oh, Rotary. He gives a lot of there's yeah, we'll we do a retrospective of um uh what you call it, shipped in, and then we'll talk about it because there's some people who should not have gotten passes, bro.
SPEAKER_08Nah, yeah, he should he should have annihilated them fast and swift, like fast and swift, but I'm fast and yeah, yeah, that's what's like pain, pain, oh pain, pain, pain. Oh the entire fandom can't stand pain, and you will see why. Um anyway, uh that's a rough one. Hold on, I gotta shake that one off, bro. I gotta shake that one off. Because he did two things that were were okay.
SPEAKER_16Um I feel like from watching Naruto, it feels like two things. It feels like baby's first anime. Baby's first anime. I could see that because it's like the story is so simple and remedial, and it's very much like watching these kids throw, like you guys were mentioning the fights. I didn't see any of that shit, not till the end. I didn't see any of that shit that made it actually, oh, this is peak.
SPEAKER_03I'm like, this is children's slap fighting. This is this is this is children like children, you know, waving at each other.
SPEAKER_08Gara was not a child, like no, no, no, not a gara.
SPEAKER_04No, Gara was a straight up fucking serial killer. Yeah, like it's the thing is that you had fucking children, fucking children, just children going up against fucking serial killers.
SPEAKER_16I mean I mean Gara was also child, but are you talking about Rochimaru?
SPEAKER_08I mean, no, so Garay.
SPEAKER_16Rochimaru is a whole that nigga's a pedophile.
SPEAKER_08What I mean by uh child is like fighting as a child, like our Yeah, no, no, he didn't fight as a child at all.
SPEAKER_16No, he's just straight up like to me. Gara, I don't consider Gara one of you know these people. I don't consider like I don't put Gara in the same category as the rest of the ninja, as the rest of the kids. Well, we're talking about the fights, and one of the big biggest fights was Gara versus Lee. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Well, it's Gara versus Lee was the big one. What the big one that that leaf hurricane, yeah.
SPEAKER_16Gara versus Lee, I'll give you that. And then um, but yeah. Uh I want to talk about uh uh Lee. We'll talk about Lee. But a lot of it didn't feel like the tuning exams, for example.
SPEAKER_18Okay, aside from the Lee Gara fight, you had Neji and uh Inata. Yeah, Neji and Inata.
SPEAKER_03We'll get let's get into the the arcs. Yeah, I have I have thoughts, plenty of thoughts, but um overall, my overarching idea of the series is that A, this is literally just baby's first anime, and B um it was all just like Shipudin is the real anime, like this is just all prologue, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, and I honestly, yeah, I'm a I'm on that.
SPEAKER_05It's like I'm not wrong, I'm not wrong. He ain't far off, bro.
SPEAKER_08He really is like a a build up shipped in, but uh there are standouts to me within Naruto's series that are are are are great.
SPEAKER_14But I think that's a little harsh. It's not I think we are exclusive.
SPEAKER_07If you simplify it, it really is.
SPEAKER_08It really is. But but but I still I still rock. There's moments of it that I do rock with, like, like the water tower or water, I guess that is a tower, right? When we like the first times uh fucking learns that the name of the move the show.
SPEAKER_16Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, we'll talk about that. But um, so um the very um the very first arc uh starts off of um the land of the waves arc. Oh, that's where we're introduced to um Naruto and um the whole concept of uh ninjutsu and um as well as we see meet our other characters, um um Kakashi, Hatake, uh Sasuke, Uchia, and um Sakura Haruno when they're made a part of Team 7. Um before that it's kind of a le that's more of a prologue. It's uh sets up um just Naruto on his own, how mischievous he is, uh mischievous he is, and um just the fact that he doesn't really care, he pretends not to care what other people think. And because secretly he wants to be the most respected person in the village.
SPEAKER_17Which is not a job for anybody, to be honest with you.
SPEAKER_16It's worse than being the fucking president of the United States, swear to God. Yeah, I fucking got buck. The thing is, um, and that my one of my issues with uh Dr. To kind of stem from the fact that he wants to be Hokage, but he's like a fucking D student at best, bro.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, even oh, you think he's got D's?
SPEAKER_13No, that nigga is a straight F I'm F.
SPEAKER_08Like I'm I'm thinking D. Like his only his only thing was sexy duty. Not even that, it's just his his unlimited.
SPEAKER_01Like even before he gets that, it's like yeah, he's he is a little battery, like yeah, his unlimited chakra, and he doesn't even know that he has that, right?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, it's it's like everybody around him knows it, like not everybody around it, but like the adults around him know about what's going on and everything like that, and he's uh a force that could be used, and like, but like in school, he was horrendous, yeah.
SPEAKER_12Right.
SPEAKER_08Um I mean, he barely had any control of his chakra, right?
SPEAKER_16And I'm gonna be honest with you. I mean, they didn't really teach how Kakashi takes it upon himself to teach him chakra control, yeah. Yeah, I'm like, what the fuck is he learning in school before that?
SPEAKER_08Well, well, because think about it, like all the other students, right? They had their parents teaching them shit before they go to school. Yeah, he had none of that.
SPEAKER_16So honestly, he yeah, so here's so here's one of my first and early uh criticisms of the show. Fuck that village, yeah. Fuck that village. Everybody says fucking village, though.
SPEAKER_08Everybody does say fuck that village, yeah. Oh, yeah, although it's not the worst village.
SPEAKER_18No, it's the same village needed to go burn in a fucking fire too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_16But no, the least, yeah, they they could have kicked rocks, yes. So this wasn't even in the show. I had I found this out beforehand, and you know, I've seen clips, I've seen you know spoiler stuff already for the show, so I understood a lot good portion of the show already.
SPEAKER_00So they didn't even mention this show. Pretty late, yeah.
SPEAKER_17So exactly.
SPEAKER_16Um we're all pretty late, so I've seen plenty of this stuff already.
SPEAKER_08I mean, I at least made it before Borotool got dirty.
SPEAKER_16Yes, yeah, I can't say that I did. I think I made it right before Borough really like got off the ground. Might have been like in the first couple of episodes, I think. About the time I finish.
SPEAKER_08Maybe.
SPEAKER_16Yeah, that sounds about right.
SPEAKER_08You at least started before Boruto.
SPEAKER_16Yeah. Um, but yeah, I won't I won't not watch Boruto.
SPEAKER_08I tried. I tried. People said it got better too, like probably like a good 100-200 episodes after I stopped watching.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but this nigga made to me one two-thirds bad anime. One third being good so far.
SPEAKER_16I can include the infight uh uh between Isasuke and Naruto in that one-third.
SPEAKER_03You get that, you get that far in the Naruto.
SPEAKER_08The rest of it, I mean, and yeah, like I will say that a lot of it is build-up for Shippeden. A lot of it is, like, uh if you don't watch and I say this because if you don't watch Naruto, there's shit in Shippin' that you won't appreciate as much. Right. You'll understand.
SPEAKER_16I mean, exactly. The thing is, like, you could watch Dragon Ball Z without watching Dragon Ball. You can't it was made for that purpose, though. It was made for that purpose. The thing is, well, the thing is that Dragon Ball, it there is no Dragon Ball Z in the manga, it's just Drag literally goes from Dragon Ball all the way to um the boo saga. Yeah, so it's not it wasn't really made for that purpose, like that way. But you know, that's what Toraba sign wanted. That's how he made the thing. There's a huge time skip. Like but uh a lot of the stuff didn't really matter. I think he had a huge it didn't seem he forgot about characters that he wrote into Dragon Ball himself. And I think that um it was the 80s, yeah. I think Kishimoto kind of uh I think there are parts that you would miss in Ship It In had you not seen the original Naruto. Yes, absolutely, but that shit was painful to watch.
SPEAKER_08Painful, it was painful. I would say the most painful thing, like the thing that was painful to me was the way he did Sakura.
SPEAKER_18I don't give a fuck about that bitch.
SPEAKER_08That's why. That's why it's painful.
SPEAKER_18I don't give a none of these niggas.
SPEAKER_16The only person I liked in this fucking show was Shikamaru. And even he started being a drag after a little while because he started to get responsibilities and shit. I'm like, fuck. Yeah, see, this is why I'm like, I can't go with him on certain things because it's like I know he's gonna take it to the to another one. Because I was like, this is uh this there's another level to this and I know it's coming. It's another level hate. He hasn't reached full hate yet.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, because he ain't he ain't get he ain't get to that pitch yet.
SPEAKER_16Exactly. Yeah, can't jump on and agree with him at 50% hate because the the your idea of a prologue is very different from what he's talking about. He's talking about this shit doesn't need to exist. Like he said it's a useless prologue. Like Alexander made it for no fucking reason.
SPEAKER_04Listen, a lot of the shit could have looked, listen, the amount of fucking listen is basically he thinks that Naruto could have been the email.
SPEAKER_16Exactly.
SPEAKER_14No, not at all.
SPEAKER_08There are there's important things in the in in our though.
SPEAKER_03There are things we're struggling to figure that one out.
SPEAKER_08I'm hoping like once you get into shipping and you understand what things were important.

SPEAKER_13I'd be like, Yeah, maybe he thinks yeah, no, no, like the way he was talking about it before. Yeah, he hates the show. I don't like the text.

SPEAKER_03Yes, yeah, yeah. I don't there's nothing I there's nothing I genuinely genuinely like about the show except for that last fight and Shikimaru for the most part. I don't like Naruto, loud as fuck, annoying as shit, dumb as fuck, worst ninja I've ever seen in my entire fucking life.
SPEAKER_16Um terrible. The only real ninjas in this fucking show are Shikamaru, Kakashi, and I said somebody else beforehand too, and I still stand by that shit. Um I can't remember. I know you're not gonna be a good one. Yeah, there's one more person that's actually an actual real ninja. None of these all these people are just fucking magic users. This is just fucking Harry Potter.

SPEAKER_08No, no, because I think he was there when he um I think Naruto went against him when he uh got the scroll.
SPEAKER_16Oh yeah, okay, I know exactly what you're talking about. So we'll back up a little bit. So again, Naruto's mischievous, like the show opens with Naruto being mischievous. You know, um, there's a great mountain of Hokage, and he messes up the mountains kind of like a Mount Rushmore of great uh uh leaf ninjas, basically.
SPEAKER_08And um presidents, it's yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_16Mount Rushmore.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_16So it's basically yeah, it's basically Mount Rushmore, and um uh so uh honoring the Hokage and um Darucho's fucking it up. So um his teacher Uruka kind of um gives him the what for about it, and um kind of writer was kind of like he doesn't say this, but he's kind of like uh you know, he treats him like a problem kid, because he is. I don't mean um 100% is so one of the so one of the other ninja trainers, uh I guess uh they're all tunin, right? Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Some of them are um because I I think well at this point okay, he hasn't met the uh Jonan, but I think I think Kakashi was Jonin.
SPEAKER_16Kakashi was definitely Jonin. Um but I think the like the people who train like the kids that Naruto's the school, the school is like Junin.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, yeah. The teaching school teachers, yeah.

Zabuza and Haku show back up, and um then this time the fight is to the death, which is actually normal normal in this world. So absolutely the ninja world is just a world of wars. Um the ninjas are kind of hired out from the village to do missions, and um if they encounter other ninja that have antithetical purposes, this normally ends up in death. And this is the Team Seven's very first foray into that. Uh Kakashi is very familiar with this world, and this is why he wants Team Seven to learn about teamwork because you the they're the only people you could depend on when you're in the field.

Um and um Zabuza decides to tell Haku to run away, and um, but Haku decides to stay with Zabuza and they die together.

So with that, um, we move into the tuning exams, which um uh uh Kishimoto actually did not want to go into. He wanted to do a few more missions um before the tuning exams, and um his editor was like, nah, bro, everybody likes to train an art uh you know an exam arc. We gotta hop on this exam arc joint, and that's why it feels rushed. Absolutely. I mean, I think it seems going to get there, but they kind of moved it up. Yeah. Because after that mission, they did tuning exams. Like, what niggas did what right after the mission?

SPEAKER_16Um so yeah, the the attack is launched. Um, we find out that um who uh so uh Rochimaro begins to fight Haruzun um the third Hokage and this please don't die. Um and uh so Sasuke tries his hand at fighting Gara once they move from the tournament because basically the tuning exams are over at this point. Yeah, and this is yeah, this begins what is called the Konaha Crush Arc, where they try to kill or they try to destroy the leaf, basically, the sand and the sound. We also get the first Sasuke retrieval arc because I count it.

SPEAKER_16Because they run it, they all uh they send the tuning after uh Sasuke in particular, because Sasuke is following Gara. Right, okay. I guess you can call it that. What interesting way to no, no, no, no, no, no. When a man leaves the leaf, that's that's yeah, because the thing is he wasn't leaving the leaf, he was just what is the what is the purpose of sending them out to retrieve Sasuke? That was the purpose, that is what happened to go retrieve.

SPEAKER_16Let the man it the first target. I agree with CJ, it is not uh a retrieval arc because the thing is it was long enough. God damn it, it was quite there's a few other retrieval arc, not a retrieval arc, okay. Going on, yeah. Sasuke had no he was not leaving the leap. No, I didn't say he was, they were just retrieving his ass.
SPEAKER_08Oh, the retrieval is to get him back to the leap. So fuck no, no, that was not a retrieval arc twice. You know what? They didn't, and we're moving on.
SPEAKER_16So we're moving on, so yeah, Sasuke goes after Gara, and Naruto also follows along. Um, and Sasuke wants up, shut it. So Gara so Gara starts to fully transform into um his tail beast version of and uh and sasuke can't handle it basically. Um could yeah, he gets his shit pushed in by uh Gara. And Naruto uh well we we do see who the fuck could Naruto steps up, and um, I believe I guess this is really the first name of the show, right? And this is after he's made a bond with the toads, basically. This is after he gets some training, a little bit of training from um Jariah, who kills well how does he get a channel?
SPEAKER_08Yes, I thought he showed up after the tune.
SPEAKER_16No, he shows up during because uh Sasuke goes off the train, and um uh Naruto happens upon Jariah, who's trying to get into um uh uh right women's staff or something like that. Yeah, because there's a period but like the trials happen and then the um the tournament happens a little bit after. Right.
SPEAKER_08We got this little break. Okay, all right. I yeah, the pacing is weird. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_16So yeah, um, so uh so Dryas sees something in Naruto. We find out later that he's former pupil's son. So but yeah, not here. I was gonna say, I didn't think they said that in the they do not say it here, but Dray takes takes it upon himself to try training well, trains Naruto a little bit and shows him how to um summon um or make a contract to summon um totes, giant totes. Meanwhile, throughout this entire anime, nobody tells this kid shit. Nobody tells him shit. They don't, not a thing, no, and that is directly because of the third Hokage.
SPEAKER_08Absolutely, yeah. Third is an issue.
SPEAKER_16Third is what bothers me is that Durai was away from the vote, like he could have just said, hey, they don't want to tell you this, but such and such. The thing is that you're third, one third, but also he's in the middle of fighting to become a chooney, like he's not ready to hear that shit yet. He's in the middle of a whole test.

SPEAKER_16Right. Well so the thing is uh at this by this point at the and also I think he um Naruto learns Rosengon at this point as well. Um working with um Jariah. Yes, yeah. No. He learns Rosengon after uh when they go off and uh when they're gonna when they're uh going to retrieve Tsunata. Okay, my bad. You're right, you're right, you're right.

SPEAKER_16Yes, because they retrieved Tsunata because um Zasuka is in such a bad way, and so is Lee. Well, it's mainly because they wanted to replace the third Hokage. Like they did like a few cool things, and then the rest of it was just stalemate. So there so Haruzin uh ends up using one jutsu to stop Urochamaru. And it also ends up killing him. So he uses this um basically this death god to take away um a reaper teacher. Yeah, to um take away uh rochamaro's ability to use hand signs.

SPEAKER_16Hmm? Yes, it's a sealing jutsu. I believe it was a sealing. It's a ceiling jutsu, yeah. That's why I die with him, and it's hilarious. Yeah, so Rise of World is dying, and so is away Orochimaru's. And I will say that that that stalemate goes because there's a back and forth that's happening where basically um the Reaper is basically cutting away. Uruchamaro's soul basically. But also um Uruchamaro's doing damage to Haruzin. And so he's a stalemate back and forth. Yeah, he stabs him with a sword. Yes. So there's a lot. I would be remiss to say it takes like one full episode to for the one and a half episode, maybe for this whole thing to conclude.

Um the sand village goes away with the tail type between the legs. I don't think there's anybody left from the Sound Village. Uh but um and Oro Tomaro goes away with no fucking jutsu, which uh use of his arms, which was hilarious. He just waves them around. The so him having his arms sealed basically seals his jutsu, so he can't use it.
SPEAKER_08That was the whole purpose of it.

SPEAKER_16Yep. Um decimated. So I believe Naruto joins Juraya to find Tsunade. Um Sasuke's laid up.
SPEAKER_17Sasuke shows up for some reason later. Does he? Which one was which one did he show up and meet, see Hitachi?
SPEAKER_16That's um right before Okay, right before the Yeah, this is towards the end of the Tsunade arc. Right, right, right, right, right. Yeah. Um so so yeah, um, and I I gotta laugh about the the when um what Hitachi shows up. But yeah, um so they find okay. So uh Juraya and um Naruto find Tsunade who's getting hammered sloshed. Sloshed. So um and uh Naruto basically you know is incredulous that this woman who's getting sloshed could be the Hokage because the Hokaga is so high and mighty in his his eyes. Or she could be of any help at all because she's in here getting fucking hammered, and when they bring bring up her going back to the league, she's like, nah. Um and then um Orochumaro shows up fresh off of his fucking fight, his defeat. I forget why Orochimaro shows up to fix his arms. Oh, so he wanted Tsunati to fix his arms. Yes.

SPEAKER_16Yep, yeah, that's right. Thank you. They came up together. I wanted to guess that, but I just wanted to be sure. But um, so yeah, so yeah, Rochamaro shows up, and now there's a fight with the three legendary signing uh so Rochamaro and um uh Juraya, not uh Rochamaro and Jirai, so Jiraiya and Tsunade versus um Rochamaru. Um and they oh we messed up because the signing fight is before. So at the beginning of the arc, the Kotski uh try to kidnap Naruto.

SPEAKER_16Um so yeah, at the beginning of the Oh, that's what gets um Sasuke laid up. That's right. You're right.

Um but he's the hilarious powerful enough because he's powerful enough to have done such a thing, and this was when he was a teenager. So they try so one of the people tries to uh use a Juju against uh Itachi, and basically anybody who watched the root show is like, yo, what the fuck is you doing? Exactly. Because I was like, bro. So um so paper ball like the Hulk.

SPEAKER_16Yeah, so Itachi and um Kisume get past um Kakashi and the other two, and um Kakashi until um Mike Guy shows up.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, and like Mike showed up or something.
SPEAKER_16Yes, you're absolutely right. Mike Guy shows up and puts an ass whooping on Kisume. Um Pete doesn't get to put an ass whooping on um Idachi though, because he knows better. Yeah, Itachi you dip.
SPEAKER_08And um so you got it, yeah, basically.
SPEAKER_16So he winds up um Itachi winds up going to Naruto and actually ends up at Naruto's door. Um and Sasuke hearing that Itachi is in uh town is in the village and possibly looking for Naruto, also goes to um find Naruto. Um and not because he's uh his friends. Yeah, it's it's about to get back for his whole plane on site for Itachi. So the thing about this is um Otachi.
SPEAKER_08Well, that's because that's one thing we didn't really point out. That like it uh uh Sasuke's entire reason, entire reason for becoming the best ninja possible is so he can kill his brother Itachi.
SPEAKER_16Yep, and um Atachi shows them the shows him the difference in their abilities. Oof by just just with Taijutsu, and he throws in a genjutsu, which is genjutsu, by the way, is a mind control thing. Um, you see things that aren't really there, and um it could basically torture you in your mind. It feels like it feels like eternity inside a genjutsu, but outside is actually just like a few seconds have passed. So just with Taijutsu alone, Itachi pizza breaks off of Sasuke, breaks his arm the whole night. Real upset about it, real sad. He goes, real sad boy. Um he uh he basically tells um uh Sasuke that he doesn't have enough pain. Yeah, hate more basically, and um he throws him into a injuries who wig see his family die. Which is wild. It's already beating. He just turns into a gibbering mess on the floor, and uh and then um Jariah shows up, and uh basically the uh Tachi knows that he's not gonna best one in the legendary Sonny right now, so that's when um he and Kisume dip. But yeah, uh Sasuke is put up in the hospital, um, and then that's when they go to try to achieve Tsunade. And um, yeah, so the fight between the three legendary Sani happened. Um and also during this arc is when um uh No Return learns the Rosinga, which becomes his staple move besides the Shadow Clone jutsu. And the talkingoj. And the Takuma Jutsu is not a real power, but yeah.
SPEAKER_17He does wield a lot of power. Yeah, we get shit popping off all the time. That shouldn't be real power, but you know, right.
SPEAKER_16Yeah, fair enough. So they end up bringing um Sunelai back to become the Hokage of the village, and she's looks in on um she's the only useful woman I've seen in this show. Yeah, she usually loses that later too. Um but um she she I mean she does her best though, but um they all do, yeah. After a while, after a certain point where her nervous powers up to a certain level, or she's kind of useless. Um yeah, yeah, actually, no, she she tried, they the there's a fight with um oh yeah, they try. She tries, I'll say this. She she you you're right, she is the best. Yeah, she's the best written woman in the entire series, honestly. If you really think about it, besides Naruto's mom, I like her, but um yeah, but we don't get to spend too too much time with her. Yeah, we'll see her. No, but um, so yeah, she ends up going back to the village and um becomes Hokage. She looks in on Lee, but she gets tells she tells Mike that he might never hide again. And um, but she also looks in on Sasuke, who she ends up healing, and Sasuke is the huming. He's so mad that he that this show is called Naruto, and that's basically his gripe because at this point, Sasuke uh Naruto knows uh summoning jutsu, the shadow clone jutsu, and the Rosinga. And the only thing that um Sasuke has really unlocked is the Chidori and um his Sharinga. And um but and also he's got that fire ball jutsu, and he he can throw good hands. Um, but also Naruto's has learned a bit of Taijutsu too, so it kind of and so honestly Naruto edges him out at this point, as as far as talent goes. Um so Naruto challenges not I'm sorry, by the way, Sasuke challenges Naruto to a fight um on the roof of the hospital, and uh Naruto doesn't back down, he they fight, and um they're about to do uh Chidori versus Rasing sort of Rasing off and um Kakashi intervenes throwing both of their attacks into uh two water two different water towers. Um at first Sasuke looks smug as fuck because he sees how much damage the Chidori did to the water tower and is like, yeah, I'm that guy. And he also sees that there's only a pin prick where um Naruto's attack landed. Um Sasuke tries to not Sasuke, I'm sorry, Kakashi tries to talk both of them down. Naruto kind of is like, alright, whatever. But Sasuke's like, nah, fuck this shit. I'm out. I'm I'm cock diesel already. So he gets so he starts to leave, and then he sees blown out that bitch sees the blown out the water tower where Naruto's attack would have hit. And he realizes that would have killed me.
SPEAKER_08Obliterated, yeah.
SPEAKER_07And this man is like, yeah, how is he still this strong?
SPEAKER_16Yeah, and that's and that's that's exactly the point at which uh Sasuke finds out that the show is called Naruto, and not he gets real sad boy about that too. He gets real sad boy about that, and he decides that in order to gain more power, um, well, actually, I'm sorry, the sound ninjas show up. Um are they called the sound ninja, or is it just um, yeah, they will be the sound ninja. Um the sound uh village ninjas show up to uh test Sasuke basically to see if he's ready. Um at Orochimaro's behest. And um they he they sh do see that he's ready for the next level, and um they say you gotta go to Orochimaro, and we're gonna we're gonna take you there. So they pack uh Sasuke up into this ceiling uh I don't even know what to call basket, basically.

SPEAKER_16Yeah, for him to basically marinate in his powers to grow stronger. Um while they're they beat Feet out of the Yeah, they say they they tell him they have to kill him first, so he kind of dies. So he kind of dies, basically, technically, to wake in his true powers. Um and they beat Feet out of the Leaf Village. Um before that though, uh Sasuke meets with Sakura, basically kind of tell her goodbye, I guess. Or does she run him down or does he meet with her? Oh, good question. Um I just remember they ended up on the fucking bench. Yeah, so Sasuke, well let's just say Sasuke and Sakura meet up and they talk, and Sasuke's like, I gotta leave. And Sakura was like, No, don't, and he's like, shut up, bitch, and like there's nothing for me here. Yeah, basically. I can't try to play more. I can't learn no more. Um so he so Sakura then goes to tell Tsunade about it, and Tsunade sends out a team of teenagers to attack full-grown ninja. Genius player. But I will say the teenagers did beat the shit out of these fucking grown-ass ninja. Yeah, that's true. So basically, um the and leading the team is Shikamaru. So Shikamaru's team ends up catching up with um the Sound Ninja, then they basically peel off uh Sound Ninja in order to fight off the team or keep them busy while the others go forward to Orochimaru. Um This is the true Sasuke retrieval arc, but for no fucking reason.
SPEAKER_19Because Sasuke didn't want to fucking stay. So they wasted their lives for nothing.
SPEAKER_16Uh yeah. I will say Sasuke, yeah, the Sasuke retrieval arc is good, but it's kind of nonsense. Exactly. Because the thing is that Sasuke does not want to stay. And they decided they were gonna save that hoe anyway.

SPEAKER_16But uh because they were super saver hoes. Yep. And decided that they were gonna try and save Sasuke from himself because they knew that Sasuke left willingly. No, they didn't. Okay, go ahead. Tsunade knew. Okay, they thought that he was taken. Oh, right, okay. So yeah, Tsunade never tells them he left willingly.
SPEAKER_13Happens a lot, apparently.
SPEAKER_16Yeah. So yeah, he does they and then um he the archer finds out later that he wanted to leave. But yeah, he wanted to leave. Um, the other thing is that um Tsunade Tsunade had crossed purposes.
SPEAKER_17The kids wanted their quote unquote comrade back or their friend back, whatever the fuck that means, because they never really interact with each other all that much anyway. And nobody really liked Sasuke, even Shakespeare. Kamar's like, I don't fucking like the guy, but he's a fucking comrade, I guess. Those were their preferences. Tsunade didn't want to lose a fucking Sharon God, which makes another Sharongon, which makes sense.
